It was the year 1985 and I was the ripe young age of 8 years old. I will never forget that Christmas because I woke up that morning, opened my stocking, and inside was a brand new cassette. It was my first cassette tape, but not just any cassette tape. The album was "Songs From The Big Chair" by the band, Tears for Fears. I had never even heard of this band, but I guess Ol' Saint Nick knew I would love it, and indeed I DID! I wore that cassette out. 

Fast forward to the year 2022. We have just come out of a world-wide lock down and pandemic. The band was discussing ideas for a cover song to record and perform. We tossed around the idea of a cover that would be completely out of character from The Uneven, but re-interpreted our way. I mentioned to Michael (bassist) that we should cover the song, "Shout". We realized that it had been covered too many times. Michael then suggested the song, "Mad World".  I immediately thought, YES! Ironically, he was referencing Gary Jules version and I was referencing Tears for Fears, of course. Michael had no clue that Tears for Fears even wrote the song! HA!

So, today I bring you our typical brooding interpretation of "Mad World"
